Following the pan-European civil society network meeting in Milan, Italy, the networks decided to put out a joint-press release on the results of the meeting. Among those conclusions, was the idea of the European Fringe Festival, that would run in parallel to the Conference on the Future of Europe, organised by the European Union.
Since then, the press has picked up on the idea, first championed by New Europeans founder and CEO Roger Casale.
